Carrie Bradshaw-Crowther: Missing Pregnant Woman Found, But Has Lost Her Child

A 49-year-old pregnant woman from North Carolina, Carrie Bradshaw-Crowther, went missing on the day she was scheduled to deliver her baby daughter via c-section on Tuesday. The woman’s daughter, Lauren Lusk, noted that she left to get gas for the hospital drive and was only gone maybe seven or eight minutes, but when she returned, her mother was nowhere to be found. The family was desperately searching for Bradshaw-Crowther, as she had a medical condition that meant natural childbirth could be fatal. The pregnant woman was found on Monday, almost a full week after she went missing, when she used her ATM card at a CVS in 80 miles west of her home in Boone, North Carolina. Sadly, it seems the woman has lost her child.

The family of Carrie Bradshaw-Crowther released a statement about the previously pregnant woman’s return. They noted that they were overwhelmed by the support they were shown over the last week. They point out that Carrie is currently hospitalized and receiving “much needed medical care” and that they are no longer expecting a new addition to their family.

The family says that they respect HIPPA laws. Therefore, they will not be sharing any details on how Bradshaw-Crowther lost the child, and will allow her to do so if she chooses upon healing. The family also took time to thank the local police department, hospital staff, the media, and LostNMissing for helping in the search. In the statement, the family points out that Bradshaw-Crowther is a giving person that always put herself second and that she would help anyone in need.

“The family of Carrie Bradshaw-Crowther would like to share their sincere appreciation to the overwhelming number of people who so willingly, through kind and caring hearts expended their time, efforts and prayers, to help us locate someone we love dearly. Carrie is presently hospitalized and is receiving much needed medical care. The compassion shown by so many people, many who do not know Carrie, is the same compassion we know Carrie shows to others daily. She is, and has always been a very loving person whose family is her world, and without hesitation, she puts herself second to anyone in need. While it is unfortunate, we no longer expect a new addition to our family and ask for your continued prayers. We respect the HIPPA laws and we feel that releasing any more information should be in Carrie’s discretion after she has the opportunity to heal.”

The Salisbury Police Department noted that Bradshaw-Crowther was not kidnapped and left on her own accord that day. It is unclear at this time why Carrie fled her home just hours before she was scheduled for a c-section or how she lost her child. It was noted that Carrie was found near Linnvale Gorge, which was “sentimental” for her.
