Bill Cosby Wants 2006 Sex Assault Allegations To Stay Buried

Bill Cosby is back in the news, and not in a necessarily positive light. The ongoing controversy regarding allegations of sexual misconduct continues with more drama, according to Pulse NG. Three women who claim the comedian drugged and/or sexually abused them are trying to have details publicized from a 2006 lawsuit that was filed against him. The 2006 case was ultimately settled out of court, but the women believe the subpoena in the case may help their own cases against the actor.

Ever since Cosby settled out of court with accuser Andrea Constand, the details behind this particular case have never been publicized. Now that Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz and Tamara Green are trying to have these details unsealed, Bill Cosby is putting his attorneys on the defense. Attorney George M. Gowen commented that this is an issue with privacy that “should not be taken lightly.” That’s why Cosby is reportedly moving to block any attempts at unsealing the subpoena in this case.

The Huffington Post reports that Bill Cosby’s lawyers began working on Tuesday to block the unsealing of the subpoena. It seems that America’s beloved father figure of the 1980s and early 90s doesn’t want his alleged victims to use the details of that lawsuit against him. The three women are currently suing Cosby for defamation after the actor had his representatives deny their allegations that he had been inappropriate with them in the past.

The three aforementioned women aren’t the only ones suing Cosby. Model Janice Dickinson is reportedly taking the embattled funnyman to court for the same reasons as Serignese, Traitz and Green. Dickinson filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles in May of this year, claiming that Bill Cosby defamed her, causing her emotional distress. No reports indicate whether or not the aging comedian has filed a counter-suit against the former supermodel.

It certainly seems that the controversy surrounding Bill Cosby is not showing any signs of relenting. More and more women continue to come forward with allegations of being drugged and/or sexually abused as recently as the 1980s. Meanwhile, Cosby himself has continued to deny all of the allegations. The man has a lot of fans who continue to support him throughout this scandal, and he has a growing number of people who want to see him face responsibility for the allegations that continue to mount against him.

Do you think Bill Cosby will ever be proven guilty or held accountable for the many allegations against him?
