Ryan Gosling Saves Woman From Being Hit By NYC Taxi

Ryan Gosling saved Laurie Penny, a British writer for the U.K. publication New Statesman, from being hit by a passing taxi in New York City after she mistakenly walked into traffic after looking the wrong direction, as she’s accustomed to England’s traffic which flows in the opposite direction. Directly after the incident occurred, a startled Penny wrote:

“I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling.”

Penny related the successful rescue by randomly-in-the-area Gosling to “being in a cheese film.” The pop culture writer described the events which unfolded in detail via Twitter as she posted:

“I was crossing 6th avenue in a new ping wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi.”

Canadian actor Gosling, who has starred in movies such as The Notebook and Drive, isn’t a stranger to exercising his conscience in the Manhattan streets as he was previously caught on video breaking apart a street fight which occurred between a street vendor and customer. The video went viral shortly after the incident and left Gosling feeling “embarrassed” as he later explained he was simply exiting the gym where he exercises when he saw two men brawling in the streets and decided to intervene as he was already warmed up and limber or “stretched out” as he was quoted saying at the time.

While Gosling’s rep hasn’t responded to any requests for comment, British writer Laurie Penny confirmed by Twitter that the actor’s identity was verified by a random female eyewitness as she tweeted:

“Identity of no-idea-if-actually-a-manarchist-but-definitely-a-decent-sort Ryan Gosling confirmed by girl near me, who said ‘you lucky b—h.'”
