Another Uwe Boll Movie Funding Rant Posted On YouTube [NSFW]

Film director Uwe Boll has a reputation for his temper, something his latest expletive filled rant on YouTube confirms. The 49-year-old German director took to the internet to vent his anger when his latest Kickstarter funding project failed to reach its goal. As of this writing the film, Rampage 3: No Mercy has only raised $25,924 of its $55,794 goal, with only 3 days to go. Assuming a slew of donations do not come in between now and the end of the campaign, this will be Uwe Boll’s third failed attempt to fund the production of his film.

Like Aesop’s The Fox and the Grapes, Uwe Boll is playing the part of the Fox quite well with his latest tirade. Speaking of Kickstarter, Boll said, “What r******d amateur idiots collecting money on that website… For me crowd funding is absolutely dead.”

The director of infamously bad low-budget films continued his tirade against Hollywood in general. In a separate 5-minute-long video, Boll called out Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Robert Downey Jr. Boll claimed they are “laughing” at low-income families who give away their hard earned money to see “Marvel Avengers bulls**t dirt.”

This latest Uwe Boll movie-based rant is significantly less violent that his last notable temper tantrum. In 2006, the director sponsored the “Raging Boll” event after sending out public challenges to critics of his films. Instead of pistols at dawn, the director challenged his critics to a boxing match in the ring. Boll gracefully provided basic training for the critics and told them he would be only throwing punches for “show.” Engadget reported that according to critic Richard Kyanka, who for some reason accepted the challenge, Boll did not pull his punches and flat out knocked the critic down.

Anyone who has seen a Uwe Boll movie will likely understand why it is hard for him to find funding. A glance at these statistics on Box Office Mojo and ratings on Rotten Tomatoes will quickly show that his reputation as a successful filmmaker is non-existent. Video game fans also cringe when they hear his name after countless adaptations of games that quite frankly, deserved better. In The Name of the King, Bloodrayne, and Alone in the Dark are among his lowest grossing and lowest rated. The only Uwe Boll movie that has earned a modicum of positive press was the video game adaptation, Postal.

Uwe Boll has passion for his craft. This is something that can not be denied. Having passion is not always enough, and hopefully this latest defeat will give the director the hint that it is time to maybe pursue a late boxing career.
