WWE News: Big Update On WWE NXT Holding An Event In Manhattan Center

WWE NXT is continuing to take the wrestling world by storm. In just the last year, WWE NXT became the hottest ticket in town wherever they are touring. WWE NXT is set to be in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, June 11. The next day, the NXT superstars will travel to Cleveland, and then to Columbus for their third show in a row out of Florida.

It all started with a show at San Jose State University before WrestleMania 31. The NXT show sold out, and then all eyes opened up to WWE NXT and its drawing power. Granted, the NXT Takeover special put it on the map, but that show in California helped push its popularity through the roof.

WWE is running NXT like a third brand. They are trying to get WWE NXT in the Hammerstein Ballroom, a venue in New York City. That report was published in early April, so things could have easily changed since then. The Hammerstein Ballroom has a rich history with ECW. It’s about to meet the newest sensation of pro wrestling.

According to E-Wrestling News, WWE NXT might land a reservation at the Hammerstein Ballroom, which is now known as the Manhattan Center.

“In an update, NXT Champion Sasha Banks tweeted out a graphic recently that promoted an NXT live event at the Manhattan Center in New York on August 22nd at 7:00 pm and tickets starting at $15. Banks quickly took the post down after tweeting.”

Also included in the report is the date and location for WWE SummerSlam. That pay-per-view is going to be at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on August 23. Whether it’s a fake graphic or not, Banks, the NXT Womens champion, did tweet it out with a graphic. Normally, graphics aren’t made unless the event is already in talks.

Having WWE NXT grace the Manhattan Center would be huge for the brand. The venue holds close to 3,000 when it sells out. WWE NXT never has a problem selling out a venue. Pittsburgh sold out in under an hour, which had WWE NXT fans furious. Even though seats are special at the moment, it’s great for the long-term success of the brand.

On July 4, WWE NXT is about to be global. WWE is going to be in Tokyo, Japan, for a huge show that will showcase the return of Brock Lesnar.

He will take on Kofi Kingston. Also, Chris Jericho is battling Neville, and the WWE NXT championship will be defended. Finn Balor and Kevin Owens are going to fight for the prestigious championship on the WWE Network. There are reports that Balor is slated to win that fight. Either way, prepare for the boatloads of screams when WWE NXT hits the mat on July 4.
