WWE News: WWE Still Teasing Big Storyline With ‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell And WWE Superstar Stardust
Arrow star Stephen Amell may be an actor who plays a character on television, but WWE Superstar Stardust does not think this is so. In fact, he feels that Amell is hiding his real identity as “The Arrow.” Cody Rhodes has taken seemingly one too many head shots over the years, which led to the crazy path he is on now. The Stardust character apparently has no clue how to distinguish real life from fantasy. Thus the issue with Stephen Amell.
The Arrow star is known for his ability to kick tail on the CW series, but what many do not know is that he does a great deal of his own stunts. He trains like a beast to make sure he can deliver a performance worthy of a superhero. If you’ve ever seen the series, you probably can agree that he does a great job. Both WWE and Arrow have a lot in common, so a crossover in some way was bound to occur eventually.
It helps that Amell has been a big WWE fan for most of his life. It was reported last month that after Stephen Amell’s altercation with Stardust on WWE Monday Night RAW that Amell would be taking on Stardust at WWE SummerSlam in August. WWE has not confirmed this, but they have been teasing that something is coming between the two a lot lately. Whether JBL claims that Stardust has “failed this city” on commentary or the two simply have exchanged words on social media, something has always happened to continue this rivalry.
Naturally is must come to a head. The latest tease came on Sunday.
WWE put out a Vine with Stardust at a recent live event in Pensacola, Florida, where Stardust said, “I know your secret, Stephen.” As if it is a secret that Amell plays the Arrow character.
The plan is still for the two to square off at WWE SummerSlam, but WWE will probably not confirm such things until we’re a bit closer to the date. While Amell is trained in various forms of martial arts and is considered to be excellent at parkour, he has never gotten in a ring to wrestle before. So this will be a new experience for him, and it is something one would imagine that he will train hard for.
Currently Stephen Amell is in New York filming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, where he will play yet another vigilante in Casey Jones. It is thought that the movie will be wrapped by August which will leave Amell open for a match with Stardust. This will also coincide with the Arrow season 4 debut, which is set to happen in the fall. So expect this match to happen.
