Miguel Pimentel: Hunky NYC Deputy’s Photos Go Viral

New York City Sheriff’s Deputy Miguel Pimentel’s Instagram selfies and photos have gone viral on social media. Thousands of women pinning to meet the handsome deputy with a ripped physique are poring over the photos on Facebook and Instagram.

The photos – one of which shows the tattooed deputy with bulging biceps, brown eyes, and groomed hair, posing in uniform beside a squad car – have attracted the attention of thousands of ladies on social media. Many have posted comments on social media begging the good-looking deputy to “cuff them, arrest them, or take them to jail.”

Others have jokingly said they are willing to commit a felony if it can help to attract the officer’s attention.

Miguel told the New York Daily News that his good looks often land him in awkward situations with women. He said some women have approached him on the streets gushing in admiration, “You are the cop on Facebook.”

“A thing that happens a lot is when I go out in uniform, like to get lunch, I’ll go to like a Subway and the female workers will talk about me in Spanish because they think I don’t understand. They’ll say things in Spanish like, ‘Oh I want him to handcuff me,’ or ‘I want to take him into the back room.’

I usually just act like I don’t know what they’re saying until I’m about to leave and then I’ll tell them, ‘You know I understood what you were saying, right?’ “

Miguel said that he learned from women who approached him on the streets that his photos have been used online by male pranksters pretending to be him so as to lure unsuspecting women into online relationships.

But Miguel’s female fans would be disappointed to learn that the 33-year-old deputy has a girlfriend he has been dating for two years. He said that his mother approves of his girlfriend and describes her as “beautiful.”

Miguel’s mother, Francia Pimentel, 57, who appears to be enjoying the attention her son is getting, said, “They are a beautiful couple. She’s got a good man, and she’s very good girl.”

She exclaimed, “I love it! [the attention her son is getting] It’s my son! Isn’t he cute? He’s so handsome, he’s got it all.”

But she said that her son’s girlfriend may not be too pleased with the attention Miguel is getting.

“I don’t think she’s too happy with all the attention he’s getting,” she said.

But Miguel, who says his NYPD colleagues often tease him about his internet fame, admits that he is enjoying the attention. He described it as “awesome” and “positive.”

Pimentel is a former Marine. He joined the military at 21-years-old and served for 10 years in Iraq and Afghanistan, completing three tours, one in Afghanistan and two in Iraq.

He says his impressive physique is the result of hours of regular bodybuilding workouts at the gym. He won the National Physique Committee New Jersey State Championships for amateur bodybuilding in 2013 and joined the Sheriff’s Department the same year, according to the Daily Mail.

“I was on the Marine Corps body building team my last year in the Marines and I liked it right away. Ever since then it’s been a part of my life.”

The Daily News reports that Peter Kehoe, an executive director with the State’s Sheriff’s Association, was amused when he learned about Miguel’s Internet fame. But he said it was OK for as long as Miguel wasn’t sharing nude photos online.

But Kehoe noted that some sheriff agencies have policies barring cops from posting online selfies and photos in uniform.

“They have (those policies) for the cops’ own good, to protect them,” he said.

Miguel’s duties as a deputy include seizing property and serving judicial mandates – not very pleasant duties.
