The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills may see another member of the Hilton/Richards family during the series’ upcoming sixth season. However, according to a new report, the addition may come as a surprise to some. On June 5, a source revealed to Radar Online that Kathy Hilton may soon be added to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — and the Richards sisters, Kim and Kyle, have no idea.
“They’ve wanted to switch things up by trading the sisters for their much more famous sister. The one rub is they told Kathy not to say anything to [Kim and Kim]. So her sisters, like the rest of the cast, are in the dark about the new casting.”
Since the Beverly Hills-based installment of the Real Housewives began airing years ago, Kim and Kyle have starred on the show in full-time roles. However, following a slew of Kim Richards relapses, the network reportedly cut ties with her. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kim’s addiction issues are too much for the network to handle. According to an E! News report earlier this week, Bravo chose to cut Kim from her full-time role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but were said to be still considering bringing her back for a few cameos in the coming season.
“It’s possible Kim may return for a cameo, or a few appearances, but not as a full-time series regular. The fates of the rest of the housewives have not yet been decided, however we are told that most of the women are expected to return.”
Radar Online’s source claimed Real Housewives producers have been eyeing Hilton for the show for a while now, but only recently got serious about her addition.
“Execs initially wanted Kathy for the show years ago, but she passed. And she ended up recommending her sisters who were clamoring to do it.”
After The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 aired, Kim began to struggle with her addictions. In April, the reality star got drunk at the Beverly Hills Hotel and was arrested for public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer, and battery on an officer. Weeks later, after leaving rehab, Kim spent several days missing in Mexico, where she reportedly enjoyed an alcohol and pill binge.
Kim has since reentered rehab in Los Angeles.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6 is expected to begin filming in the upcoming months.
