Ripa: ‘Go To’ Cleanse Doctor Details Kelly Ripa’s Seven-Day Alkaline Cleanse For 14-Pound Weight Loss [Video]

Kelly Ripa has a “go to” cleanse from her doctor, Daryl Gioffre. Co-host of Live with Kelly And Michael, Ripa feels that the high alkaline, anti-acid cleanse has improved her health and energy, reported Us Weekly.

“I’ve been working with this guy. His name is Dr. Darryl Geoffrey, and he is a chiropractor, but also a nutritionist, and he put me on this cleanse,” said Kelly.

The talk show host contended that it’s transformed her entire life.

“It’s an antacid, like high-alkaline cleanse, and it has changed my life. And I swear, I think it’s responsible for me not being in pain.”

Ripa’s doctor, Dr. Daryl, revealed that the go-to cleanse diet only lasts for seven days, although dieters can stay on it for long periods of time, reported E! News.

Called the “Get Off Your Acid” cleanse, this go-to diet was designed by Gioffre as a seven-day alkaline-rich approach to healing the body. However, the doctor explained that the cleanse is different from a liquid-only diet or juice fast.

“It was always my goal to create this 7-day cleanse that wasn’t going to do all those things that people think about cleanses,” explained Dr. Gioffre.

As the Inquisitr reported, Kelly Ripa credited her go-to cleanse doctor for easing her own pain from what she termed “strange injuries.”

Ripa emphasized that she experienced no hunger during the seven-day food plan.

“It’s a very manageable cleanse. It’s very manageable. You’re not hungry. It’s not like … people go, ‘What are you eating? You’re just drinking, you know, a green juice a day?’ No, it’s not like that. You eat. I actually eat much more on this cleanse than I do in my actual life, but it’s what you eat and how you eat it.”

In addition to being a chiropractor, Gioffre is an alkaline lifestyle expert and certified raw food chef whose athletic pursuits include being a triathlete and ultra-marathoner, who formerly played soccer for the United States Under 20 Men’s National Soccer Team.

Dr. Daryl considers himself a former sugar addict, so his seven-day cleanse specifically eliminates all foods high in sugar. The AlkaMind diet focuses instead on generous amounts of dark green leafy vegetables, healthy fats such as nuts and avocado and quinoa, as well as selected other whole grains.

The cleanse doctor also emphasizes the importance of eliminating meat and dairy for all seven days while drinking water. In addition to boosting your energy and feeling better, Dr. Gioffre says that his patients lose up to 14 pounds during that seven-day period.

For those not familiar with using ingredients such as quinoa, the cleanse doctor also has credited recipes for the go-to diet, such as the one below.

Quinoa Burrito Bowl (serves 2)

Ingredients:
1 cup quinoa (or brown rice)
2 15oz cans of black beans (organic, rinse thoroughly)
4 green onions, sliced
2 limes, juiced
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 heaping teaspoon cumin
2 avocados, sliced
Small handful of cilantro, chopped

Cook quinoa by combining two cups of water with one cup of quinoa in a pot over high heat. When the water comes to a boil, cover the pot and turn heat down to the lowest setting for 30 minutes. While quinoa is cooking, open the cans of beans, rinse thoroughly, and pour into a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the onions, lime juice, garlic, and cumin and let flavors combine for 10-15 minutes. When quinoa is done cooking, portion into individual serving bowls. Top with beans, avocado, and cilantro.
