Casey Anthony: First Interview Planned With Matt Lauer?

Casey Anthony’s first interview rumors abound on the internet. It is not yet known if Caylee’s death be discussed if Anthony sits down with Matt Lauer on the Today Show. Should Casey admit to murdering her own daughter during the NBC interview, double jeopardy laws could prevent her from ever serving any prison time for the crime.

The Florida mom was acquitted of the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, in 2008. Casey Anthony reportedly met with senior NBC show bookers and producers, including Don Wood, in New York last week to discuss the possibility of an exclusive interview, according to the New York Daily News.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the reason for Casey Anthony’s interview, if one were going to occur, could relate to looming financial problems. It has been alleged that Anthony has not been able to secure consistent employment and has been primarily working from home and at entry level jobs.

NBC was reportedly treating Casey Anthony to the full first class treatment. The mom accused of murdering her toddler daughter was reportedly picked up at JFK International Airport in a limo before allegedly meeting with NBC News booker, Matt Zimmerman.

Matt Zimmerman is also reportedly the senior booking producer for the Today Show. If Casey Anthony’s resurfacing means an interview on the Today Show is in the works, it has been presumed that Matt Lauer would be the host to handle the exchange.

“News divisions meet with people in the news all the time — as of now, nothing is planned,” an unidentified “NBC insider” said about the alleged Casey Anthony interview.

TMZ claims that Casey has “flirted with network interviews in the past, but never closed.

No one has ever been convicted of the Caylee Anthony murder. Florida double jeopardy laws state that a person “charged with a crime can’t be charged with the same criminal offense a second time after a conviction, acquittal, or mistrial, nor charged with the same offense twice in the same indictment or information.”

If Casey Anthony admitted to killing Caylee on live television, she could still possibly be charged with lesser crimes associated with the child murder.
