Iggy Azalea Denies Canceling Her Tour Due To Low Ticket Sales And Recent Engagement

Iggy Azalea may be making headlines for her recent engagement to L.A. Lakers player Nick Young. However, as Azalea gushes over her exciting relationship news, Iggy is also defending herself against rumors that suggest her engagement and low ticket sales were the real reason for her having to cancel her U.S. tour.

Last week, Azalea announced in an official statement that she decided to cancel her entire Great Escape Tour due to creative differences, noting that she had to make the difficult decision in order to maintain the quality of her shows, Gossip Cop confirms.

Azalea previously opened up about her decision to initially postpone the tour in March, revealing that she was unhappy with the way the stage and production was being handled. Iggy also noted that she was having to make “a lot of sacrifices” about the direction of the tour and felt it would have impacted the quality of her shows.

“I don’t want to have an average tour with a normal stage and this kind of thing. I want people to come and really feel they got their money’s worth.”

However, fans instantly began dissing Azalea, claiming that low ticket sales were actually the cause of Iggy wanting to call off the tour last minute.

However, Azalea dished to Seventeen magazine that it truly was creative differences that led her to want to cancel her shows, before adding that she also felt that she deserves a break from her hectic schedule, E! Online confirms.

“I’ve had a different creative change of heart. I want to start totally anew, and if I stayed on my tour, that would mean I wouldn’t even be able to start working on that until after Christmas. On top of that, mentally, to be honest with you, I just feel I deserve a break. I’ve been going non-stop for the past two years, nearly every single day. I’m not in a bad place. I think sometimes when you say you need a mental break, people are like, ‘A mental break? Be sure you don’t have a breakdown because you’re sad.’ No, not necessarily.”

However, just days after announcing her decision to cancel the tour, Azalea confirmed her engagement to longtime boyfriend Young in a series of adorable photos, in which Iggy flashed her enormous 10-carat ring.

Azalea took to Instagram to show off photos of the ring, telling fans, “Happiest Day #Isaidyes,” before tagging boyfriend Young in another photo, “Love you @swaggyp1.”

Iggy’s stunning ring is reportedly 10.43 carats and valued at nearly $500,000, Gossip Cop confirms.

Ring designer Jason Arasheben, of Jason of Beverly Hills, revealed in a statement that the ring reflects Azalea’s personal style.

“We wanted it to be both a ring of Iggy’s dreams and a ring that fits her personal style. It is always an honor when a client trusts me to help design a ring that symbolizes one of the most important decisions of their life.”
