Carrie Underwood’s Dress Performs at ACM Awards (Video)

Carrie Underwood’s dress is, unsurprisingly, the most hotly discussed highlight of last night’s Academy of Country Music Awards.

The dress, a long, strapless, burgundy-red shimmery affair, billowed like a deflating hot-air balloon as she floated walked across the stage. While I can understand the effect she was trying to achieve by wearing the dress, it’s obvious they crossed the line. Throughout Carrie Underwood’s entire (flawless) performance of “I Told You So,” the dress was so distracting that it actually took away from the enjoyment of listening to the song.

Even ACM host, Reba McEntire, quipped “I was going to wear that exact same dress!” after the performance.

In related news, Carrie Underwood won the award of Top Female Vocalist, and is only the 7th woman to ever to win the ACM award of Entertainer of the Year.
