Woman Pregnant With Twins Does Incredible Walking Handstands And Other Gymnastic Feats At 35 Weeks [Video]

If you are like some people, when you think of a pregnant woman exercising it’s probably a comical image of attempted toe-touches and waddled movements, but Julia Sharp has forever changed this perspective.

The 27-year-old (then) mother-to-be astounded the internet with her mad gymnastic skills, doing handstands and dips at 35 weeks pregnant — with twins!

Sharpe, who has been doing gymnastics since the age of two, competes on the men’s team of her alumni MIT club.

In an interview with The Cut, the mechanical engineer revealed that she trained full time up to 30 weeks into her pregnancy because she had planned to head right back into the gym shortly after the birth of her twins.

“I trained as much as I could while I was pregnant because I knew I wanted to get back into the gym soon after the babies were born. I pretty much did everything up to ten weeks,” she said.

Sure enough, only eight weeks after giving birth, Julia slipped seamlessly into a singlet — the attire worn by male gymnasts, and competed in fine form beside her teammates.

Sharpe had originally switched to the men’s team to bolster their numbers and because she wanted a new challenge.
