Trayvon Martin Tried To Kill George Zimmerman, Says Robert Zimmerman

Two stories have emerged from the night of February 26th. One says that Trayvon Martin was on his way home from a convenient store when George Zimmerman confronted and killed him. The other story, the one that Zimmerman’s father Robert says is true, says that Trayvon viciously attacked the neighborhood watchman and that Zimmerman pulled his gun in self defense.

Robert said:

“Trayvon Martin said something to the effect of, ‘You’re going to die now’ or ‘You’re going to die tonight,’ something to that effect… He continued to beat George. At some point, George pulled his pistol. Did what he did.”

A police report seemed to back up Zimmerman’s story. According to Orlando KSAT, a police report stated that Zimmerman was found at the scene with a bloody nose and a cut on the back of his head. Zimmerman did not seek medical treatment.

But Robert Zimmerman’s story, and more importantly the police report, may have been exaggerated (or completely made up). A new video surfaced today showing Zimmerman at the police station shortly after the attack. It doesn’t look like Zimmerman is injured in anyway. (You can see the video here.)

But again, the video may not tell the whole story. Joe Oliver, a friend of George Zimmerman’s, said that police “cleaned him up” at the scene of the crime before he was brought to the station. Craig Sonner, Zimmerman’s lawyer, also noted that at one point in the video a police officer can be seen checking Zimmerman’s head.

Regardless of what the video shows, Robert insists that his son was attacked. Zimmerman’s father said:

“He was punched in the nose. His nose was broken… He was knocked to the concrete. Trayvon Martin got on top of him and just started beating him. In the face. In his nose, hitting his head on the concrete.”

Marcia Clark, the former prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson trial, said that if Zimmerman really experienced those injuries they would have been visible on the film. Clark said:

“The injuries that made it sound as though he really should have been on a stretcher are not apparent in this tape at all. He moves freely. He moves fluidly, not like someone who has just been through a beating in any way, shape or form, someone whose head has been pounded on the pavement as hard as described, someone whose nose was broken and bleeding. That tells you a great deal.”

Check out the video here and tell us what you think. Do you believe George Zimmerman’s story? Was he attacked by Trayvon Martin?
