Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooter Associated With Young Thug

Young Thug and Lil Wayne may not see eye to eye, but many would never have expected things to go this far. After the April 26 shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus in Atlanta, charges were finally filed on Thursday against Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, Young Thug’s road manager.

According to TMZ, Young Thug’s road manager has been charged by the Atlanta Police Department with “aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and possession of a firearm by a felon.”

Young Thug’s associate was also charged with “criminal gang activity” due to Winfrey’s alleged membership with “the Bloods,” stated Billboard.

The Atlanta Police Department stated that they believed the shooting to be “an effort to gain status as a Blood by ‘committing a high profile shooting of a rival rap artist.'”

Despite his connection with the Bloods, Winfrey’s connection with Young Thug has many asking if the shooting had anything to do Young Thug’s longtime feud with Wayne.

The feud between Young Thug and Weezy began when Young Thug stated he wanted to name his next album “Carter VI, to pay homage to his idol Weezy who had repeatedly said at that point that he would be retiring following the release ofTha Carter V,” said XXL Magazine.

Shortly after, Wayne took to Twitter to rant about his own album, Tha Carter V, saying he wanted to leave his label, thereby forming a rift between himself and Young Thug friend, Birdman.

Then Young Thug’s label announced that his next album would be called Carter 6, which even had Wayne’s daughter on Twitter sharing just how she felt about Young Thug’s choice of album names.

According to TMZ, in March of 2014, Wayne’s daughter tweeted “Is he trying to be funny with this Carter6? Cause it’s pretty childish to me!

Then Wayne openly dissed Young Thug in April, saying “Stop listening to songs of niggas who pose naked on their motherfucking album covers,” after Young Thug had released the cover art for Carter 6, which featured Thug naked.

Thug holds off on firing back, saying he’ll never fight with his “idol,” but then took to instagram to say, “Big killa, young n*gga, young f*cking money…I kill you.”

Of course, there was some more back and forth between the two rappers, but two weeks after Young Thug’s instagram comments, Lil Wayne’s tour bus was shot by who we now know as Young Thug’s road manager.

The connection between the shooter and Young Thug has people wondering if there was more behind the shooting of Lil Wayne than previously thought.
