Anheuser-Busch Canning Water For Texas Flood Victims
Anheuser-Busch is now canning water for the Texas flood victims.
The company’s plant in Cartersville, Georgia has stopped their production in order to help those who have been impacted by the severe weather outbreak that occurred in Texas, including the extreme flooding, according to USA Today.
NBC News reported that Anheuser-Bush has filled nearly 50,000 cans of drinking water that will be given to the American Red Cross to be distributed to Texas and Georgia.
“Right now our production line is running emergency drinking water instead of beer,” Cartersville brewery manager Rob Haas told the news site.
This isn’t the first time the company has helped out those in need. The Cartersville brewery cans water several times a year for emergency relief efforts, and since 1988, they have provided over 73 million cans of emergency drinking water.
“It’s something we’re uniquely positioned to do in a very timely period,” he said.

In a news release, Anheuser-Busch said they are planning on providing “2,156 cases of emergency drinking water — or 51,744 cans,” according to the Washington Post.
“Relief workers and people in the region are in need of safe, clean drinking water, and Anheuser-Busch is in a unique position to produce and ship large quantities of emergency drinking water,” Peter Kraemer, vice president of Supply for Anheuser-Busch, said in the news statement.

“Our local distributors help identify those communities most in need, and work with relief organizations such as the American Red Cross to make sure the water gets where it’s needed,” he added.
Red Cross spokesman Jordan Scott said the organization has been working with the company to determine where the water is most needed.
“Oklahoma and Texas are in an unprecedented situation,” Scott said. “There are a lot of folks in need and everyone’s coming forward to help out.”
Anheuser-Busch has 12 different breweries throughout the United States. They are the maker of several major beer brands including Budweiser, Michelob ULTRA, Beck’s, Kirin and O’Doul’s.
