Sherri Shepherd Makes Bizarre Comment About Motherhood On ‘The View’

It’s been a year since Sherri Shepherd was a regular staple on The View, but today she made an appearance, and as it stands she’s still saying awkward things on the television show. It was like she never really left at all.

Sherri appeared on The View as a guest moderator. During a hot topic discussion, it was brought up that millennials aren’t rushing to have children. Co-moderator Raven Symone said that she’s dying to have children. “I’m 29, I’m about to be 30 this year. I want a baby so bad. I’ve wanted a baby since I was 15.”

Here’s where the awkwardness comes in from Sherri Shepherd. The ex-View host has been fighting for custody of her child with ex-husband, and comes out with the following response to Raven Symone, “I got one or two you could have of mine. I’ll give them to you. Women with kids are like, take mine.”

This is after Sherri just won sole custody of her child with ex Lamar Sally. She then continued to talk about her personal predicaments, including lawyers she’s racked up due to her divorce proceedings. “I actually feel like if I had listened to my best friend, I wouldn’t be having a million attorneys in my life right now.”

She continued, “All the stuff that I’m going through now, all of my best friends who told me, ‘Sherri, don’t do this,’ they welcomed me back with open arms. Nobody ever said I told you so, especially Whoopi Goldberg because she came in my room every day and was like ‘Here’s the red flags.’ She came and she said ‘I got your back,’ so I love all my best friends.”

As stated, Sherri was awarded sole custody of her 10-month-old son, whom she had via surrogate. She is financially responsible, and her name is still listed on her child’s birth certificate.

Some people didn’t take Sherri’s words too lightly, even though she was trying to make a joke.
