‘Gotham’ Season 2 Spoilers: Two More Villains, Plus New Series Regulars

Gotham Season 2 may not premiere until the fall, but that doesn’t mean that you have to wait until then for some teasers about what to expect. The latest news out reveals that two recurring guest stars from the first season have been made series regulars for the second, plus find out a few hints about two new villains that will be introduced.

In the Gotham Season 1 finale, it was an all out mob war, one that ended with the Penguin actually pushing Fish Mooney to her presumed death. Since a body was not recovered, it is always possible that she’s still out there – especially given everything she survived during the season, including scooping out her own eye – though Jada Pinkett Smith will not be returning, as the Inquisitr previously reported. Elsewhere, Edward Nygma got closer to becoming the Riddler as his dark side came out. Speaking of darker sides, Selina joined Fish’s side during the battle. Plus, Bruce found a hidden staircase of his father’s, and what that leads to can only be speculated about at this point.

Then there was what happened between Barbara, Jim’s ex-girlfriend, and Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Jim’s current girlfriend, as the former asked the latter to be her psychiatrist following the events of her kidnapping. (Rewatch that scene below.) Barbara admitted that she killed her parents and went after Leslie, who won the fight, which led to questions about their futures as well as Jim’s. Well, TVLine reported that Morena Baccarin will be a series regular for Gotham Season 2, so expect to see a lot more of Dr. Thompkins.

Also returning as a series regular to Gotham, as IGN reported, is Nicholas D’Agosto, who reported the news himself on Twitter.

This has seemingly always been in the cards, as the actor revealed during Season 1. But when will Harvey Dent become Two-Face? With D’Agosto now a series regular, it could be sooner rather than later.

In other Gotham Season 2 news, TVLine has also revealed that the show is casting both a male and female DC villain.

The male villain is “intelligent, cultured and highly articulate” and “extremely attractive, both seductive and threatening.”

The mid to late 20s female villain is “a sexy knock-out.”

Gotham Season 2 will air Mondays at 8 p.m., paired with the new series, Minority Report, on Fox this fall. Head to the comments with your guesses for these new villains coming to the DC Comics show.
