Jessica Simpson Was Bullied In School, Claims ‘Sweetheart’

Jessica Simpson was bullied by other girls when she was in school, according to her alleged high school sweetheart.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Chris Etchieson opened up about his past friendship with the 34-year-old singer and fashion mogul.

Perhaps one of the biggest bombshells that he dropped was when he claimed that, even though she was very popular, Jessica Simpson was bullied by others in school.

“A lot of other girls were jealous and I know some people would bully her. It’s hard for girls to develop so quickly but from what I saw she always had great self-esteem. A lot of people call her an air-head but that’s probably because she’s sweet.”

Even though it has been nearly two decades since the two attended high school together, Chris still remembers her as having star quality while still remaining humble and grounded at the same time.

“For someone who was destined to become famous she was really down to earth. She was really popular in general, with the guys and the girls, everyone knew who she was. Jess was a cheerleader and hung out with that kind of crew… I don’t think she necessarily craved the attention or liked being chased but there was always a star quality about her.”

What brought Jessica Simpson and her alleged high school sweetheart together in the first place?

According to the interview, the two spent time together in an after-school dance club.

The club allowed the two of them to slow dance with one another, which is how Etchieson was able to have a memorable moment with a future star caught on camera.

“I got lucky because she was the hottest girl in our group. We became close, good friends. We would chat in the school hall and I got to know her really well.”

Etchieson claims that he had a chance to catch up with Jessica Simpson back in 2008 after she returned to Dallas to spend quality time with Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

Chris reportedly spent nearly 45 minutes catching up and talking about old times with Jessica Simpson after bumping into her at an airport. According to Chris, they “talked about life, what was going on, how her family are and the usual stuff like that.”

Long after Jessica Simpson graduated from high school, she married her first husband Nick Lachey in October 2002. The couple finalized their divorce nearly four years later in June 2006.

Jessica later became engaged to Eric Johnson, a retired NFL player in November 2010.

During their nearly four-year engagement, Eric Johnson and Jessica Simpson welcomed two kids into the world – daughter Maxwell Drew and son Ace Knute.
