Tatum O’Neal Admits To Dating Mostly Women

Tatum O’Neal admitted in an interview with People magazine that she has been dating mostly women recently. The actress and ex-wife of tennis celebrity John McEnroe came right out and said, “I like women.” She added that she thinks women “are the most amazing creatures on earth.”

“I definitely have been dating mostly women recently.”

The Oscar-winning star continued during the interview to talk about a recent change in her life. She says she is more about dating women, and she is happy and content.

“They’re gentle, and also more intelligent than the men that I’ve met recently. I don’t have a steady right now, but I look forward to it.”

ABC reported that the 51-year-old actress dated Michael Jackson in the 1970s. She was married to McEnroe from 1986 to 1992. They went through a divorce and contentious custody battle in 1994. As a result of Tatum’s drug problems, McEnroe obtained custody of the children in 1998. The three children are now adults. Kevin is 29, Sean is 28, and Emily is 24.

Tatum is the daughter of actor Ryan O’Neal. They were estranged for about 25 years before they established a better father-daughter relationship. In her 2011 memoir Found, she detailed her drug use as a teen and how she and her father couldn’t get along.

Los Angeles Times reported that after O’Neal acknowledged she is dating women, she emphasized that she’s “not one or the other” when it comes to identifying her sexuality. In other words, she is not defining herself as a lesbian or bisexual. She did indicate how much she is looking forward to going “steady” with someone.

O’Neal was previously wed to tennis star John McEnroe from 1986 to 1992, and they finalized their divorce and contentious custody battle in 1994. After Tatum’s divorce, she never remarried. McEnroe remarried and had two other children.

Tatum says after decades of struggling with drugs, she is clean and in a good place these days.

“I’m the most content I’ve ever been. I’m the proudest mother in the history of the world.”

Tatum is a talented actress. She won an Oscar at age 10 for her role in Paper Moon. She starred in Rescue Me and Bad New Bears as well as other popular films. Like a lot of other celebrities, Tatum O’Neal was a competitor on Dancing with the Stars in 2006 in Season 2. Her professional partner was Nick Kosovich. Viewers didn’t see much of Tatum on the popular dance competition show because she was eliminated in the second round.
