The infamous Kardashian car crash this past February was mentioned at the Academy Awards pre-show, but until now, we haven’t seen the event take place. In the Keeping Up with the Kardashians mid-season finale trailer, we finally see the reveal of the moment Khloe lost control of the car.
The accident was most likely especially scary for Kim Kardashian, who had 20-month-old North West in tow and feared for at least two lives. Khloe was driving along in Montana with Kim, North West, and Kylie Jenner when the car hit some black ice and began spinning out of control.
Black ice is a term used most often in colder climates, and the bane of even the best drivers. It happens when water on the road freezes just thin enough that you don’t see the ice. Your tires find no traction on what looks like a regular part of the asphalt and the faster you’re traveling, the more danger you’re in.
Whatever you do when your car loses control or starts to skid, don’t use the brakes. Tap the accelerator until the tires grab the road again, and counter-steer. It is unknown if Khloe did this during the infamous Kardashian car crash, but she was certainly surprised.
Kim Kardashian, in the back seat with North West, was just as scared as she started yelling about how she didn’t have her seatbelt on.
Khloe brought the scare up at the Academy Awards pre-show less than 24 hours after the accident, according to Us Weekly.
“It was really scary yesterday, but we’re all good, all safe. We were in Montana, hit some black ice, [and the] car spun out of control, like a big rig got ice all over our car … It was scary. Kim was screaming and crying, but it’s all good. Everyone’s good. Just shook up a little bit.”
According to the trailer for the mid-season finale of the show, the Kardashian car crash may be shown in all of its terror. For now you’ll have to be content with the horror shown for about four seconds in the Keeping Up with the Kardashians trailer.
