WWE News: ‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell To Wrestle WWE Superstar Stardust?
Stephen Amell is an actor from the hit show Arrow on The CW, but don’t tell that to WWE Superstar Stardust. Apparently, Stardust believes that Amell is his Arrow character from the television show.
Stardust is a character performed by WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes. For some time now, Rhodes has had quite an identity crisis and has gone off the rails a bit. Cody plays this up well, and he even does interviews under the Stardust make-up wearing the full suit.
Stephen Amell and Stardust got in a social media confrontation before WWE RAW last night, once Amell made the announcement that he would be at the show.
Many wanted to see Amell get in the ring last night, however he is technically unable to do so as of now. Stephen Amell is playing Casey Jones in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and he is in New York due to that. This was why he was able to be at WWE RAW last night in the first place. WWE wants Amell to get in the ring for sure, and Amell said months ago that he wants to do so.
He claimed that he would love to host and wrestle if WWE would have him. Sadly, last night the Entourage cast were guest hosts. It made more sense, as the show was taking place from Nassau Coliseum. Plus, Amell is still filming the Turtles movie and his schedule as well as contract prevented him from doing the stuff he may have liked to do.
It is thought that WWE will bring back Stephen Amell in the future, potentially to promote Arrow or the new Turtles movie. There he could face off with Stardust who challenged him the next time he came back on RAW Fallout.
The idea of the story from what we can gather is that Stardust doesn’t believe Amell when he claims he is simply an actor and not The Arrow himself. So the two would face off in the future, potentially having Amell show up in his Arrow suit to fight the evil that is Stardust. Many were under the impression that Amell was just showing up to watch the show, which may have been the case. However, he appeared ringside during the Neville/Stardust match and left that particular area after the segment ended.
Stephen Amell is a huge WWE fan and has expressed as much online. He was like a little kid when he met Sting not too long ago. Amell liked bringing up the Vigilante similarities between he and Sting on his Facebook page that he himself runs.
In an interesting note from the night, Stardust did face off with Neville as mentioned earlier. This was by design, as Neville’s finisher is called “The Red Arrow.” So take this and mark out with it on the inside.
