Joey Lawrence Fashion Role Model For Johnny Depp And Kanye?

Joey Lawrence and some other 90’s hunks were chosen for Us Magazine‘s “Best Bodies” issues. And while you can’t help but focus on the photo shoot and Lawrence going shirtless, Lawrence did have a few things to say.

The 39-year-old star reminisced about his time on Blossom with Mayim Bialik. While other hunks at Us Magazine‘s shoot, like Ian Ziering, did not appreciate their wardrobe on their respective shows, Joey says he never had a problem with it.

According to Us Magazine, Joey said, “Nowadays I’m feeling like I’m seeing it all over again. Flannels around the waist are back!”

Lawrence went on to “call out Johnny Depp and Kanye West’s latest garb,” pointing out that it was very much his style on the show.

Lawrence played Joey Russo on the show, which ran from 1990 to 1995.

Lawrence still looks fondly on that time, he added, “It feels long ago because so much has happened since 1996, but yet it feels like it was yesterday too.”

And a lot has happened since his time on Blossom. Lawrence starred for a short while with his brothers on the aptly named Brotherly Love. More recently, Lawrence has been starring on ABC Family’s Melissa and Joey.

According to the Daily Mail, “ABC Family picked up the series following the success of the network’s 2009 movie My Fake Fiance that starred Melissa and Joey.”

Despite the success they had for many years, the show, which stars Melissa as a politician and Joey as her nanny whom she eventually marries, is set to end. The show has not been renewed, and Lawrence’s show will air its final episodes this summer.

Karey Burke, ABC Family’s executive vice president, said, “Now that the kids are grown and Mel and Joe have married and are looking towards starting a family, it seemed like a natural time to bring the series to a close.”

Lawrence took to Twitter to share his sadness over the ending of the show.

While Lawrence may have been sad over the ending of the show, the 90’s hunk was happy to share that he is working on a new project, a movie called The Bridge.

Joey Lawrence has come a long way from his days on Blossom, and whether or not you agree that he has inspired the fashion of stars like Johnny Depp and Kanye, you have to agree that Us Magazine chose wisely for their “Best Bodies” issue.
