Mother’s Day Gift Of $4 Million: Daughter’s Gift To Mom Unexpectedly Worth Far More Than What She Paid For It

A mother’s day gift of $4 million isn’t something just any daughter can pull off. In this case, it was the furthest thing that could happen even if it was the ultimate DREAM!

The Chicago Sun Times reports that Priti Shah of Des Plaines, Iowa won $4 million from an Illinois lottery ticket she was given as a Mother’s Day present from her daughter. She was given three lottery tickets on Mother’s Day… with one of them being the $100 Million Money Mania ticket that had a jackpot worth $4 million.

“I didn’t win on the first two tickets, but the third ticket more than made up for it!” Shah shares.

Even after Shah confirmed with the convenience store where the ticket was purchased that she won the money, she “still couldn’t believe it was true.”

The lucky woman, whose Mother’s Day gift totaled $4 million, will receive $200,000 per year over the next 20 years. Shah plans to share the winnings with family and invest the rest of it. She said that the “next 20 years of my life will certainly be easier.”

According to Fox 2 News, the winning Mother’s Day ticket was purchased at Gateway Newstands in Norridge. The store will get a $40,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

A $100 Million Money Mania ticket costs $20 each and offers three prizes — $4 million and 20 prizes of $100,000.

In March, a man received a get well card from his son and won $7 million from the lottery ticket inside it. CNN reports that the winning ticket in New York was given to Joseph Amorese, 46.

“I took my glasses off; I’m looking at it; I was pretty shocked to say the least,” Joseph Amorese said. “I had surgery; so I didn’t jump up and down, but in my mind I was jumping up and down.”

Amorese was able to collect a lump sump of $4.6 million after taxes. This is was a great way to start out his marriage. He was married to his wife just 10 months when the winning ticket came along. The pair planned to use the winnings for a second honeymoon.

“My life, I don’t expect it to change a whole lot. I’m still going to go to work every day. My wife’s gonna go to work, and we’re going to invest the money and enjoy life.”

The $7 million get well card gift — and the Mother’s Day gift of $4 million — is the kind of present most wish they could give someone. Spending a few dollars and have it turn into millions is a dream for both gift giver and receiver!
