WWE Rumor: Dana White Involved In ‘WrestleMania 32’ Angle With Ronda Rousey?

It’s no secret that the current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey wants to get back in a WWE ring at some point in the future, and, of course, WWE would love to get Rousey into the ring for a match at next year’s WrestleMania 32. There has been some talk about Rousey teaming up with The Rock to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, but, it seems that the more likely scenario would involve Rousey taking on Stephanie McMahon in a one-on-one match. That’s if UFC President Dana White allows it to happen.

Keeping plans a secret is hard to do these days. It seems that no matter how hard WWE tries, their plans will almost always be spoiled in advance. Sometimes, WWE has no problem with their plans being spoiled because it may drive more people to watch their shows, but there are times where it doesn’t help them at all.

Ronda Rousey’s involvement at this past year’sWrestleMania was one of the few things WWE was able to keep quiet until it happened, and even though people knew she was going to be at the event, the assumption was that she was going to be there as a spectator due to the fact that she’s under contract to the UFC, and historically UFC President Dana White has never allowed his fighters to appear on WWE television.

Recently, White came out and said that Rousey wouldn’t be doing anything with WWE in the near future, and that her appearance at WrestleMania was a one-off. But, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Rousey said that White publicly saying that she won’t be appearing at next year’s WrestleMania 32 could be part of the plan, so when she does appear, it’s a surprise just like it was this past year.

“Here’s the thing. With the last WrestleMania, what was the coolest part? It’s the surprise. So do you really want to know? Maybe this is all part of some plot, to put Dana out there and be like, ‘Nope, no way it’ll ever happen.’ Then make everyone forget about it so later I can just pop up like, ‘What? Dana said no.'”

“That’s the cool thing about WWE. You don’t know which factors are being put out there because they’re real and which ones are being put out there to put you guys off what’s really going to happen.”

Dana White has never done business with WWE in the past. In fact, back in 2010, Vince McMahon was trying to cut a deal with White to let Brock Lesnar — who was still under UFC contract at the time — wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania 27, but White wouldn’t allow it. However, White did end up allowing Brock Lesnar to appear in a WWE video game while being under UFC contract, and he allowed WWE to sell Brock Lesnar-related merchandise.

There has been some speculation that Dana White will only allow Ronda Rousey to appear at next year’s WrestleMania if WWE allows Brock Lesnar to return to the UFC to fight Frank Mir. However, Lesnar did say that he’s completely finished with the sport of mixed-martial-arts this past March, but, who knows, maybe Lesnar will have a change of heart, especially if it’s just a one-time deal where he’ll make as much in one night with the UFC as he makes in an entire year with WWE.
