Spider-Man Entertainer Backflips And Gets Knocked Out Cold [Video]

A Spider-Man entertainer knocked himself out when he did a backflip at a children’s birthday party. At first, an amateur video shows a Spider-Man performer doing his routine fairly well. The superhero gymnast does a few aerials that are pretty impressive.

However, a short time later, Spider-Man attempted to do a backflip and failed. He landed on his head and was knocked out cold.

A woman came to the entertainer’s rescue. Fortunately, it looks as though no one tried moving the performer—he might have injured himself so bad that he may have broken his neck.

The end of the video shows a little movement by the Spider-Man performer. At this point, whether he is okay is unknown.

This latest Spider-Man accident is not rare for superhero actors and performers. Other Spider-Man entertainers have been plagued with accidents while playing the part of this Marvel Comics character.

For example, according to a story by the New York Times, Daniel Curry suffered injuries during the second act of the August 15, 2013 performance, Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark.

Part of Daniel’s leg was caught up in some of the show’s technical equipment. According to witnesses, Daniel started screaming when a trap door closed shut on his leg, trapping the Spider-Man actor.

Ms. Kessler, of Plainview, New York explained what she saw when she attended the performance with her husband and two sons.

“The floor looked completely closed on his leg. They brought out a privacy screen and a lot of people on stage started getting things going. A stretcher was brought out; they were using a saw to cut a hole in the stage floor. All we cared about was whether the actor was and would be O.K. We explained it as simply and as carefully as we could to our kids.”

Another accident took place during a $65 million Spider-Man performance by the title hero played by Christopher Tierney. Christopher fell into a pit in the closing minutes of a show, according to a report in another article in the New York Times. Some of the show’s equipment even fell into the audience. Tierney was rushed to Bellevue Hospital Center.

A quote from the New York Times offered more details about Tierney’s injuries.

“Mr. Tierney sustained broken ribs and suffered some internal bleeding as a result of falling from the platform, according to a person familiar with his medical condition, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private medical information.”

For some performers, playing the part of any superhero, including Spider-Man, can be a dangerous profession and detrimental to their health. Audiences of live performances are at risk of suffering injuries, as well.

With that in mind, remember kids, don’t try this at home.
