Becca Tilley Defends Kaitlyn Bristowe From ‘Bachelorette’ Sex Controversy, Hangs Out With Britt Nilsson

Kaitlyn Bristowe was just named the Bachelorette on Tuesday night’s episode, but she’s already under a storm of controversy. The official trailer for the season, which was aired after Tuesday night’s episode, during which Britt Nilsson was sent home, showed Kaitlyn admitting that she had sex with one of the suitors way too soon. In tears, Kaitlyn said that she regretted what she did. The men in the competition looked to be furious when they were told the news.

One person who is squarely on Kaitlyn’s side is Becca Tilley, who competed with Kaitlyn on The Bachelor for Chris Soules. On Thursday, Becca tweeted that people should keep their negative thoughts and judgments to themselves.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, posted on Wednesday, Kaitlyn said that she has nothing be ashamed of.

“I don’t think that’s a crazy thing to sleep with somebody when you’re trying to be in a relationship with them. I’m a 30-year-old woman and I make my own decisions and intimacy to me is a part of every relationship and I don’t know why everyone is so shocked by it. It’s 2015. I’m an in-the-moment kind of person. I tried to compartmentalize each relationship and be present with each guy, and some went faster than others and some went slower than others. I’m not ashamed of it — I just regret the timing.”

Becca Tilley isn’t the only person from The Bachelorette family to defend Kaitlyn Bristowe. The original Bachelorette herself, Trista Sutter, has told people to stop criticizing Kaitlyn for having sex on the show. In an interview with Us Weekly, posted on Friday, Trista reminded everyone to be considerate of Kaitlyn’s feelings. Trista agreed with Kaitlyn that sex while filming the show has happened before but she just happens to be willing to admit and talk about it.

“[The trailer] is getting people to talk, but what needs to stay at the top of this conversation is that no matter who you are and the mistakes you’ve made, everyone has feelings…I’m sure there are plenty of people who have [done the same during the show] but no one has talked about it this publicly before…Yes, Kaitlyn used the word sex, but it doesn’t mean that she had sex with 25 or 30 guys! Bottom line, as someone who has gone through it, is that whatever Kaitlyn did on her journey is her business. I wish people would be more compassionate.”

Besides watching the new season of The Bachelorette, Becca Tilley is hanging out some of the people from the franchise. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Becca attended a premiere viewing party with Michelle Money, Samantha Steffen, and Ashley Iaconetti on Monday night in Fort Lauderdale. Just two weeks ago, she hung out with Britt Nilsson.
