Third Holly Bobo Murder Suspect Arrested, Charged

A third Holly Bobo murder suspect was arrested and charged in the nursing student’s death. John Dylan Adams was previously charged with rape in the same case. However, he is now facing additional charges of premeditated first-degree murder, first-degree murder in the perpetration of a felony crime, and aggravated rape.

John Dylan Adams is the brother of Zachary Rye Adams, who was indicted in Bobo’s kidnapping and death in 2014. Jason Wayne Autry was also indicted in the same crime.

Holly Bobo, 20, was last seen at her Darden, Tennessee home in the early morning hours of April 13, 2011. Although she left the house to go to nursing school, the young woman was apparently abducted in the driveway.

At approximately 7:50 a.m., Holly’s brother Clint heard a dog barking and looked out the window. As reported by The Tennessean, Clint observed “a man dressed in camouflage” leading his sister into the woods. He was not concerned as he initially assumed the man was Holly’s boyfriend.

Clint attempted to contact his sister and her boyfriend via cellphone. Unfortunately, both calls were forwarded to voice mail. Ten minutes later, the young man walked outside and found a pool of blood on the driveway next to Holly’s car.

The investigation into Holly Bobo’s disappearance lasted more than three years. However, authorities were not willing to give up.

In March 2014, prosecutors announced Zachary Rye Adams was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and first-degree murder in Holly’s disappearance and suspected death. One month later, Jason Wayne Autry was arrested and charged with the same crime.

Holly Bobo’s remains were discovered on September 7, 2014 in a wooded area in Decatur County. Her cause of death was later determined to be homicide.

As reported by The Jackson Sun, John Dylan Adams was identified as a suspect in Holly Bobo’s disappearance and death. However, he was also a crucial witness against his brother and Jason Wayne Autry.

According to a police affidavit, John Dylan Adams was one of the last people to see Bobo alive. He is also accused of disposing of several items, which “he knew possessed evidentiary value.”

John and Zachary’s cousin, Moss Miller, contends John would not have voluntarily participated in a crime or disposed of evidence.

According to Miller, the murder suspect has “the mental ability of a 10-year-old, with an IQ in the low 70s.” In his opinion, Zachary, who has a violent past, may have coerced his brother to participate.

“Zach’s life’s destroyed now anyway, but it was before all this happened, but Dylan’s not that way. Dylan can still be a productive part of society, if they leave him alone.”

Authorities have not commented on the arrest of the latest Holly Bobo murder suspect. However, they confirmed the additional charges against John Dylan Adams.
