Ryker Lynch Reacts To Losing ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 20 To Rumer Willis

Ryker Lynch had a shot to win it all and take home the mirror ball trophy during the Season 20 finale of Dancing with the Stars. Unfortunately, the Colorado native fell a little short but still managed to finish a close second to Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy.

Willis and her partner Chmerkovskiy took away the win for Season 20 of Dancing With the Stars in a finale that featured some of the best performances we’ve seen all season.

After the show, Willis talked about how it felt to hear her name announced as the winner. “I had this moment where I was like, ‘Wait. Does that mean we’re eliminated or we’re not? Oh, wait. OK, we won! Oh my gosh, this is awesome!'”

Willis went on to explain how much winning the competition meant for her. “I wanted it from Day 1 and I think that was the intention and the goal that we both set,” she related. “Whether or not it was something we were conscious of, I think part of the drive and passion that got us here was just a desire to be able to have this moment and be able to share it together.”

Although Willis and Chmerkovskiy managed to get perfect scores from the judges, Ryker Lynch and his dancing partner, Holker, also received perfect scores for all three of their dances, according to USA Today.

“That was such a cool moment to see the [judges’] 10s” for the fusion dance,” Lynch explained after the show. He went on to talk about how he congratulated Willis and Chmerkovskiy for their victory. “As soon as we were allowed to approach them and celebrate with them, I just said, ‘Congratulations.’ They were amazing. That last dance of theirs, I think, was probably my favorite Val and Rumer dance.”

Along with his appearance on the show, Lynch is getting ready for his nationwide tour with his band R5. With all the attention Lynch has been getting lately, from his appearance on the show to his music, his uncle, Anthony de St. Jeor, recently talked about how proud his family was back home.

“It’s unbelievable, we’re just so excited,” de St. Jeor told 7 News in Denver. “He didn’t tell anybody, he was on. We definitely miss him and we try to stay in touch with him as much as possible.”

Although Ryker Lynch may not have come out on top, at least he now has a promising future in dancing if his music career ever slows down.
