‘Scandal’ Season 5 Spoilers: What To Expect From Your Favorite Characters

Scandal Season 4 may be over, but Season 5 is right around the corner and will be back for more drama this fall. Spoilers for the new season are already being speculated about, but one thing is for sure: nothing will ever be the same again.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Scandal Season 4 finale was huge. So much happened with all our favorite characters that we could hardly keep up. Thankfully, Den of Geek is breaking it all down and letting fans know exactly what to expect when Season 5 rolls around.

All of our favorite characters are in some serious turmoil and going through huge issues. Most obviously is the show’s main character, Olivia Pope. Liv finally made a decision between Jake and Fitz in the finale and, as everyone predicted, she chose the President of the United States, who is the man she’s loved for years.

Olivia finally went to Fitz and the two got together. It looks like Liv will be spending a lot more time at the White House in Season 5, as her relationship with the President took a back seat to her drama with her father in Season 4. Now, the two might actually have a chance to live happily ever after — or will they? Mellie is still out there and looking to make a presidential run in the future. Can she do that without Fitz’s support?

In the Scandal Season 4 finale, Fitz kicked Mellie out of the White House and fired Cyrus Beene after learning that their part in the massacre of the grand jurors in the B-613 case. Mellie may have to find a new angle to get herself back to the White House, whether it’s with Fitz or on her own as the first female President of the United States.

Speaking of those jurors, we learn that Huck was the one who killed them in hopes of sparing his family from death that Olivia’s father, Rowan, threatened against them. Quinn found out and pulled a gun on Huck, who seemingly wanted her to pull the trigger. Will Huck ever get the help he so desperately needs, and the family he so desperately wants? It looks like another long and heartbreaking season for Huck.

Meanwhile, heartbreak could also be coming for fans of Jake Ballard. Jake told Olivia to go get Fitz, the man she loves, and said he was done with Liv — although he was in love with her. Does this mean that Jake is off the show, or will his role in Olivia’s life change? Perhaps he could become a Gladiator, but working closely with Liv would be so hard for him.

Meanwhile, TV Line reports that Portia de Rossi’s character, Elizabeth, has been hired as Chief of Staff to replace Cyrus, and could be stirring up some trouble in Season 5.
