Kerrian Clofer: Woman Arrested For Burning, Beating, Starving, And Handcuffing 8-Year-Old Girl Over A Snack

A Louisiana woman named Kerrian Javana Clofer has been arrested following several disturbing accusations of child abuse. According to NOLA, the 26-year-old is being accused of brutally beating an 8-year-old girl over a snack. Apparently, the child ate a snack without her permission. So, Clofer decided that the child needed to be reprimanded for her actions. Needless to say, she definitely took things too far. Now, she’s facing years behind bars.

Calcasieu Parish sheriff’s deputies were alerted of the girl’s condition on Thursday, May 14, when she was taken to a hospital in Lake Charles, LA. Medical examiners noticed she had “severe burns on both her hands and numerous marks all over her body,” reports KATC. The shocking injuries led to an investigation on suspicion of child abuse. When detectives asked the little girl about the nature of her injures, she admitted she’d suffered the abuse at the hands of Clofer who is reportedly a friend of her father.

The little girl revealed Clofer burned her hands as punishment for eating the snack. She forced her to put her hands over an open flame on top of their gas stove. In addition to the horrific burns, she was also starved for several days. When she was allowed to eat, she was only given a cup of noodles. There have been other times where she suffered confinement to a bed.

When she slept or left home for work, she’d reportedly handcuff the girl’s wrists and tie her legs to a bed. But, unfortunately, the horrific punishment isn’t all she’s suffered. She’d also suffered beatings with belts and clothing hangers on a regular basis. The girl’s shocking accounts of abuse led to Clofer’s arrest.

On Friday, May 15, Clofer was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and false imprisonment. She was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center with a staggering bond set at $700,000. No details about the girl’s parents have been released, but it has been reported that she will be placed in Child Protective Services after she is released from the hospital, reports CPSO. She is currently being treated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of a Baton Rouge hospital.
