Reese Witherspoon ‘Very Open’ With Kids About Pregnancy

Just in time for Reese Witherspoon’s birthday, Us Weekly ran a report yesterday saying that the actress is expecting her first child with Jim Toth, who she married just under a year ago.

Now that the big news is out of the bag, the actress’ friends are talking about how Witherspoon is preparing her kids, Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8, for the new addition to the family, and how much Witherspoon was hoping to have a baby with Toth.

“Right after the wedding, Reese expressed a desire to have a baby with Jim,” a source close to Witherspoon told People magazine. “All along, Reese has been very open with her kids about her plans to expand the family. Especially [because] Ava is at a sensitive age, Reese always makes sure to consult with her. She is very respectful of Ava’s feelings.”

Now that WItherspoon has yet another baby on the way, sources claim that the actress plans to cut back on her work a little bit to make time for the family.

“Reese has worked nonstop, but Jim takes great care of the kids in L.A. while she is out of town. Jim and Ryan [Phillippe] also get along fine and they have shared the responsibility while Reese is working.

“Reese gushes that Jim is great with her kids,” the source adds. “And the kids seem to really like him.”

Reese Witherspoon recently starred in “This Means War,” “Water for Elephants” and “How Do You Know“. Her next film will be Mud opposite Matthew McConaughey. Witherspoon also has two other movies in the works.
