Brittany Kirk is surprised that her cat is still alive. Her cat, Sugar, fell 19 stories from an apartment building in Boston. The cat had a few bruises, but no broken bones or other serious injuries from the fall.

Kirk.

“I look out my window all the time and I think, ‘Wow, this is really high.’ I think she probably used one or two or maybe eight.”

According to CBS the cat was examined by the Animal Rescue League. They found a few minor bruises on Sugar’s lungs but no other major injuries.

Sugar fell close to 200 feet. According to the rescue workers the huge height of the cat’s fall actually worked in Sugar’s favor.

One of the rescue workers said:

“The cats were able to relax, orient themselves in a flying squirrel position with the legs spread out. It slowed their descent down.”

Kirk said that she will be installing a railing on her window to make sure that Sugar doesn’t lose anymore lives.

Kirk said:

“I’m just so thankful. When I came home from work today and I saw her, I was just very thankful. It’s a miracle.”
