‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Multiplayer Agents Tasked With Taking Down High Dragons For Reward Chests

With another weekend underway, Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer participants have another operation to tackle. This time around multiplayer agents have a little longer to accomplish their goal. Instead of ending on the following Monday, players have until Wednesday to complete their task.

This multiplayer challenge, entitled “…There’s Fire,” is little more difficult than normal, which is why players have an extended window to finish the operation. Players will need to slay six high dragons for a personal reward, a Commendation Chest, while each community must slay thousands for players to receive an additional chest.

Dragon Age: Inquisition players on the Playstation 4 will need to join together and slay 8,000 dragons while gamers on PC and Xbox One need to kill 5,000. Those on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 need to eliminate 1,500 for their Victory Chest.

High dragons are new to the multiplayer in Dragon Age: Inquisition considering that they were added with the “Dragonslayer” DLC. This downloadable content was free across all platforms and added a number of new features to the game. Aside from adding dragons to the mix, “Dragonslayer” also added new characters for players to master. A new warrior named Avvar the Skywatcher, a new cloth-wearer called Zither the Virtuoso, and the rogue Isabela the Duelist are all new to the roster.

Summoning a dragon in the multiplayer of Dragon Age: Inquisition does require some action on the part of the player. “Dragonslayer” added a new map called Ferelden Castle and dragons can only be found there. Although they can be stumbled upon randomly, players can guarantee their arrival by using a Dragon’s Call consumable. This item is crafted before a match with 10 metal, 10 leather, and five cloth. When starting a match, the player can select the type of dragon — fire, ice, or lightning — that they would like to battle. Later, when the party reaches Zone 3, someone in the party must bang the gong. This summons the dragon to Zone 5 and consumes the Dragon’s Call immediately. A specific walkthrough is available in the official Dragon Age: Inquisition “Dragonslayer” DLC.

Fighting dragons and winning will reward agents with a chance at new dragon loot. Each time a dragon is slain, it drops gold and an item. This item has a chance to be a dragon weapon with the quality increasing with difficulty. For example, defeating a dragon on the Threatening difficulty, the medium difficulty, has an increased chance to yield a blue, rare dragon weapon rather than purple, unique weapon found on the highest difficulty, Perilous.

“Dragonslayer” is the second Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer DLC added to the game. Both have been completely free, and any future DLC for the multiplayer will also be free of charge. Recently, BioWare explained why future DLC most likely won’t contain returning characters like Isabela. As the Inquisitr reported, many previous companions could have died in previous entries of the game, making their appearances quite jarring for some players.
