Lisa Clark: Georgia Woman, Who Married Son’s 14-Year-Old Friend, Speaks Out About Their Disturbing Love Affair

Lisa Clark fell in love with her son’s 14-year-old friend, Adrian Gonzalez, when she was 36. A year later, they were expecting a baby and planning their wedding. Now, they have two children together. Of course, Clark was widely criticized for her disturbing love affair with the young boy, but now she’s speaking out with details about the evolution of the relationship – one she now “deeply regrets.”

During a recent interview with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on the U.K. show This Morning, Clark shared details about the series of events that led to the shocking affair, reports Mirror Online. She insists Gonzalez initially lied about his age, insisting he was 17 instead of 14 at the time they met.

She also explained what fueled her bizarre attraction to the young boy. Clark specified depression, low self-esteem and grief were contributing factors in the relationship. However, she now sees the problematic aspects of the whirlwind affair.

“He was just there. He was very persistent and it just happened,” Clark said. “It was crazy.”

“He was 14 and I was around 35, 36,” she recalled. “But my son had said he was 17.”

“When you have two people who have very low self-esteem who come together. I was drinking a lot. My dad had just died, I was going through a bad divorce of being cheated on a lot. There was a lot of issues. He was just there and very persistent and it just happened. It was crazy. It was the stupidest thing I’ve ever done. Wrong place, wrong time, something I deeply regret.”

As their conversations progressed, the relationship evolved into much more, and Clark got pregnant. Surprisingly, her family didn’t condemn her for her actions. Instead, she insists they pressured her to marry Gonzalez due to the pregnancy. However, it is unclear whether or not the family was aware of Gonzalez’s real age.

According to Metro, the two legally married when Gonzalez was only 15 due to Georgia law which permits marriage under the age of 16, with paternal consent, when pregnancy is a factor. However, that law definitely didn’t apply to Lisa.

Shortly after their marriage was finalized, she was arrested and charged with statutory rape. She served a four-month prison sentence, and gave birth to their son while incarcerated. After she was released, they continued their relationship and welcomed another child. However, it appears their love affair has waned. Clark went on to reveal she and Gonzalez are now separated. Their main focus is their children. She also has advice for those considering the type of relationship she had with Gonzalez.

“We are currently separated,” she said tearfully. “We are trying to co-parent.”

“If you are considering a relationship like this you need to find out what’s really going on with you,” she advised.

Although she cautions those who have similar “desires,” she still attempted to justify her feelings for the 14-year-old boy. She insists she is not and never will be a pedophile. Eamonn argued that regardless of how she views the situation, her actions are still considered pedophiliac.

“A pedophile is someone who is attracted to someone who hasn’t reached puberty yet. That is the wrong term.” She added, “It was so long ago now, I’ve moved on, it’s not a part of my life now.”
