‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Weekend Of May 15, Truth On Sale

The final visit in Destinyby Xûr, Agent of the Nine, before the release of the “House of Wolves” is released has arrived. The Exotic armor and weapons vendor has a curious selection of goods this Friday highlighted by one the more powerful rocket launchers in the game not named Gjallarhorn.

This weekend, Xûr can be found just outside of the Speaker’s building next to the railing overlooking the city. Turn left as soon as you spawn in the Tower and run straight to the north part of the social space. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

Destiny Xur Tower North Railing (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, May 17. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.

The Truth is definitely the highlight of Xûr’s goods for sale this weekend because it is one of the rare times he’s sold the Exotic rocket launcher. Titans can look elsewhere to spend their strange coins as the An Insurmountable Skullfort helmet gets a horrible stat role. Meanwhile, the Knucklehead Radar and Apotheosis Veil helmets for Hunters and Warlocks have above average stats.

The Exotic armor upgrades available this weekend have been better in the past. Most of what is being offered is skippable, especially with the new power levels hitting next week in “House of Wolves.” The exceptions are upgrades for Heart of the Praxic Fire Warlock helmet and the Crest of Alpha Lupi Hunter chest piece.

Here is what is available for sale and upgrade from Xûr this weekend. Thanks again to DestinyDB for the Exotic information below.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Destiny - Truth Rocket Launcher (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Truth rocket launcher is a Void-based rocket launcher and one of the best in the game. The community debates over its usefulness in PVE, but it is largely situational. For example, it excels in the Vault of Glass raid, but its utility in Crota’s End is questionable. What it does excel at is PVP where its aggressive tracking perk and large blast radius will take down your target and any of his buddies.

Destiny - An Insurmountable Skullfort (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Insurmountable Skullfort is the other helmet available for Striker Titans in Destiny. And by other, I mean you only want to pick it up if you don’t have the other Exotic Titan helmets or chest plates available. It is geared toward health regeneration with the Infusion perk that replenishes health when picking up Orbs. Meanwhile, the Improved Transfusion perk regenerates health when killing enemies with the Fist of Havoc. Not bad to have for the final encounter in the Crota’s End raid, but not as useful as other Exotics like Helm of Saint-14, Inmost Most, or Armamentarium.

The 93 Discipline stat roll is dreadfully bad this week, making it an easy skip.

Destiny Knucklehead Radar (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Knucklehead Radar is unique in Destiny as it allows the radar to stay up when any Hunters sub-class uses any primary weapon. That’s something you’ll have to decide if it is worth it, as some players swear by it while others don’t feel the perk adds many benefits when there are already several weapons that come with the perk.

The 123 Strength stat is above average for this helmet. If you need to add it to your collection, it’s not a bad pickup.

Destiny - Apotheosis Veil (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Apotheosis Veil helmet for Warlocks is a utility helmet that works well with either sub-class. It’s primary benefit in Destiny currently is to help with survivability in the Crota’s End raid. The Infusion Perk will replenish health when you pick up Orbs of Light while the Private Reserves immediately regenerates your health when activating our Super ability. These are useful in some PVE situations as well as during hairy encounters in Nightfall strikes and the like.

The 117 Intellect is slightly above average. It’s not a bad pickup if you want to run Crota’s End Hard Mode.
