Cleveland Cavaliers Destroy Overrated Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose, Advance In NBA Playoffs To East Finals

Cleveland Cavaliers fans can cheer again. LeBron James led the Cavaliers past the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night to advance in the 2015 NBA Playoffs. Playing on the road, Game 6 of the second-round series was supposed to be tougher, but the Cavaliers won 94-73 to eliminate the Bulls. The Cavaliers will now play either the Atlanta Hawks or Washington Wizards in the Eastern Conference Finals.

James played just over 41 minutes in Game 6, nearly achieving another playoff triple-double in the process. He finished with 15 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds to his credit. James had to do a lot of the heavy lifting as well, with Kyrie Irving suffering an early injury that kept him out for the majority of the game. Irving played just over 12 minutes total, seemingly giving the Bulls an advantage that Derrick Rose and his teammates simply could not use to their advantage.

As reported by NBC Sports after Game 3 of the series, Chicago Bulls fans had mighty aspirations for the team after Derrick Rose hit the game-winning shot. Rose had given the Bulls a 2-1 lead in the series and it looked like an upset of the restocked Cleveland Cavaliers was close at hand. Any basketball fan knows that the NBA Playoffs can be full of moments like that, but this wasn’t meant to be the Bulls’ year. The Cavaliers won the final three games of the series and have given Cleveland a reason to really get excited.

In the series-deciding game, Rose shot just 7-of-16 from the field, and the Bulls got outscored by 20 points when he was on the court. He would score 14 points and Jimmy Butler had 20 to make them the only Bulls players in double-figures. The Bulls weren’t hitting shots, shooting just 37.5 percent from the field, and the Cavaliers were playing tough defense when it mattered most. It led to a Game 6 that was basically decided at halftime. In the second half, the Bulls only scored a total of 29 points to lose badly in front of the Chicago crowd.

One of the biggest pieces of news during the 2015 NBA Playoffs has been how LeBron James had to step up and take over the Cavaliers again. It was previously reported on the Inquisitr how power forward Kevin Love was lost for the season to an injury suffered in a first-round series against the Boston Celtics. Then Kyrie Irving twisted his knee early in the second quarter of Game 6. It left James trying to lead his team to victory.

When the score was tied 35-35 in the second quarter and Irving was sidelined, it seemed like the Chicago Bulls had the perfect scenario to even the series at three games apiece. Instead, LeBron James took the Cleveland Cavaliers on his back, taking them to what will be his fifth straight Eastern Conference Finals.
