Rebel Wilson: ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Star Announces New Clothing Line With Plus-Sized Fashion Brand Torrid

Rebel Wilson, star of Pitch Perfect 2 which opens in theaters tomorrow, has announced a new clothing line with the plus-sized fashion brand, Torrid. The 25 piece clothesline, known as “Rebel for Torrid,” will hit the clothes racks this November according to a recent press release.

Wilson, who has been making the talk show rounds this week in preparation for the highly anticipated Pitch Perfect sequel, says that working with Torrid felt right after years of frustration in trying to find plus-sized clothing that she felt fit her style. “It was awesome to team with Torrid, who I think are doing such a great job in making plus-size fashion relevant and dope,” Rebel said in a statement.

Rebel’s partnership with Torrid is not her first venture into clothing. In 2013, Wilson announced she would be launching the clothing line “Not For Skinny B****es,” which consisted of nothing more than plus-sized t-shirts featuring donuts and cupcakes. Wilson‘s line of limited edition clothes with Torrid will have a bigger variety in attire and price options, featuring jackets, dresses, tops, and accessories, from $28.50 to $125.

Ever the comedienne, Rebel took to Twitter to assure her non-plus-sized fans that there would be Rebel Wilson items that would suit their needs too.

Rebel Wilson is the voluptuous, cheeky Australian actress comedian who had her breakout role as Kristen Wiig’s awkward roommate in Bridesmaids. After catapulting to the A-list with the sleeper hit Pitch Perfect, Wilson became a hot commodity, being tapped to host the 2013 MTV Awards and then headline her own comedy series, Super Fun Night. Unfortunately, viewers didn’t find Super Fun Night all that super or fun, and Wilson’s show was cancelled after 18 episodes.

While Rebel Wilson has continued on in smaller supporting roles in films like Pain and Gain and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, Pitch Perfect fans are rejoicing as she reprises her role as Fat Amy in the soon to be released Pitch Perfect 2.

While promoting Pitch Perfect 2 in a recent interview, Rebel discussed the positive impact that Pitch Perfect has had in promoting the self confidence of its female fan base.

“We’re 10 girls in a group that are all different sizes, nationalities and backgrounds, and yet we come together to create something really great,” Wilson continued, “I have noticed that I have a lot of young female fans, and I think what they’re tapping into is that Fat Amy and obviously myself are very confident in our own skin. That inspires them.”

Perhaps Rebel Wilson’s new line of clothes will help people feel comfortable and confident too.
