Was Kenya Moore’s ‘Millionaire Matchmaker’ Boyfriend And Engagement A Publicity Stunt? A Timeline Of Events

While Kenya Moore claimed to be shocked when she found out Tuesday via social media that the man she thought was her boyfriend is married, the RHOA star’s statement does not jive with the timeline of events.

Although James Freeman may have been single when he met the former beauty queen during taping of the Millionaire Matchmaker last year, he certainly was not a bachelor when Kenya hinted that the two were engaged earlier this month when she posted a photo of an engagement ring on Facebook with the caption, “Anything can happen in Vegas.”

As the Inquisitr reported on Wednesday, a source close to the reality TV star says it was just within the “past couple days” that Kenya Moore discovered her boyfriend is married. However, when looking at the timeline of events, the former beauty queen’s claims that she just found out on Tuesday about James being married is inconsistent with the events leading up to her formal statement on the matter.

According to the Wrap, the episode of Millionaire Matchmaker in which Freeman and Moore met was filmed in November of 2014. At that time, James was single.

Freeman’s wife, Jaimi Gregory, tells Radar Online she and James met via Match.com in December of 2014 and became engaged just three months later in March of 2015. While James’ wife admits he and Kenya went out two to three times after filming, Freeman found Moore not to actually be a good match for him, and he wished Moore the best.

The Millionaire Matchmaker episode aired March 22. After the episode aired, Kenya posted a photo of herself and Freeman together on her Instagram account with the caption, “Sometimes you can spend your whole life looking for Prince Charming when a King arrives.” The photo seemed to suggest that the two were still dating.

According to Freeman’s wife, however, Kenya and James had not seen each other in months at that point.

James Freeman and Jaimi Gregory wed on April 3.

Gregory tells Radar Online that Kenya just started reaching out to James again in the past two weeks, suggesting the two should “celebrate” the high ratings of the Millionaire Matchmaker episode. When James responded that it would not be appropriate since he is married, Kenya was angry, not so much that he had met someone, but because this would hurt her publicly.

“Kenya wrote to him and told him that he hurt her brand. Of course he didn’t respond to her. But a little more than a week ago she reached out again and told him she needed a favor. When he asked what it was she told him she needed to talk to him in person. He didn’t want to do that so he didn’t respond.”

However, on May 2, Moore posted the alleged engagement ring to Facebook.

Moore engaged in a Twitter battle with RHOA co-star Porsha Williams a day later on May 3. After Kenya accused Porsha of wearing a wig during the reunion taping, Williams advised Moore she should be focusing on something other than her co-star’s hair.

On May 12, Kenya Moore issued a formal statement via Instagram in which she claimed to have just found out that day that James Freeman was married, as the Inquisitr previously reported.

Based on the timeline of events, it seems the entire “relationship” between Kenya and James was a sham. However, was it a publicity stunt by Moore or Freeman and his new wife? While Jaimi Gregory maintains this was all a publicity stunt put on by Kenya, fans of the former beauty queen question the newly married couple’s behavior and claim it is they, not Moore, who are now seeking their 15 minutes of fame.

Although the Wrap has reached out to both Bravo and Moore for comment, neither have responded.
