‘American Idol’ Crowns Its Season 14 Winner
American Idol fans were abuzz Wednesday as Season 14 drew to a close and one of two fan favorites was crowned the champion. If you have yet to watch the season finale and have it sitting on your DVR lineup, then avert your eyes now.
It came down to two outstanding male contestants on Wednesday night’s American Idol Season 14 finale: Clark Bechham and Nick Fradiani. Both contestants had what it took, but only one could be crowned king.
So who took home the American Idol Season 14 title? Drumroll please… and the winner is, Nick Fradiani! According to USA Today, Fradiani was a ball of emotions after his name was called out as the winner of Season 14.
“I can’t,” Fradiani said as he wiped away tears. “Thank you guys so much, thank you so much. It’s amazing — the best day of my life.”
Nick Fradiani now joins a select handful of other contestants who can claim that they are American Idol winners, though will his career take off? It can go one of two ways, Fradiani’s career can either blow up like Kelly Clarkson’s and Carrie Underwood’s, or it could flat line like so many other Idol stars. What comes next all depends on how hard Fradiani works and how long his fans stay alongside him. According to the Twitter chatter surrounding last night’s finale, Nick’s fans seem to be in it for the long haul!

While many are still celebrating Nick Fradiani’s Season 14 win, Fox has announced that Season 15 of American Idol will be the show’s last. According to the Huffington Post, the once-blockbuster singing contest has lost quite a bit of its following. The show reportedly peaked at 30.5 million viewers in 2005, though now only averages 9.15 million viewers per episode.
