Steven Tyler Country Debut On ‘American Idol’ Includes Jax Duet: Who Will Judge ‘American Idol’ Final Season? [Video]

Steven Tyler has gone from Aerosmith frontman to country music bro. While fans bit their fingernails waiting for Tyler to debut his new single “Love is Your Name” on American Idol, they were pleasantly surprised by the results, reported Rolling Stone.

Authored by Eric Paslay and Lindsey Lee, “Love is Your Name” showcases Tyler singing in his own inimitable style with a background of drum, guitar, and the country-essential fiddle.

From fiddle to guitar to Steven’s strong vocals, the song is short and sweet (under four minutes total). So now that it’s debuted, does that down-home country music flavor precede a future for Tyler in the country music kingdom, or does it hint that he might even do duets with some of the current country bros, such as Blake Shelton and Tim McGraw?

Tyler gave a clue when he sung a duet with Jax on American Idol, reported People. Their duet followed “Love is Your Name,” and the two won cheers when they sang “Piece of My Heart” together.

However, thrilled as she was to duet with Stephen Tyler, Jax was not the winner of American Idol, reported MSN.

That honor for the next-to-the-last season of the show went to Nick Fradiani, crowned by the ubiquitous Ryan Seacrest.

But even as the crowd yelled for the winner, the real question is: Who will judge the final season of American Idol, reported E! News.

Paula Abdul looked back on her legacy as a judge.

“It’s just a sign of something that changed the world, and actually changed people’s lives, and legitimized their dreams, has run its course. I’m fortunate to have been a part of it from day one.”

As for Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, who judged with Paula, Abdul denied rumors that the famous threesome would team up again for the show’s final run.

“I haven’t even spoken to anybody about it,” she insisted.

Nigel Lythgoe was more candid about his expectations for American Idol‘s last season.

“I’m hoping Fox will do this next year, that they will bring back all of the American Idols, across all of the seasons. Let’s bring back Randy, Paula and Simon, and let’s bring back the executive producers. It would be fabulous. I’ve never stopped loving the program. It’s changed my life totally. There would be no So You Think You Can Dance without Idol.”

Paula expressed her gratitude while praising the new judges.

“Look, I’m really blessed to be part of something that’s changed the trajectory of my life,” she declared. “I left at the very top with the highest ratings. And I think when you’re family is broken up a little bit, people felt that, and when Simon left, they felt that and Randy… but in this process the new judges are brilliant the chemistry between them is wonderful.”

However, as the Inquisitr reported, Simon Cowell currently is busy in his new roles as the proud papa of baby Eric and the girl band Fifth Harmony.

However, if Simon does return to the American Idol judging table, don’t expect him to use it as a diaper-changing station.

“I’m going to be honest – I’m not exactly a hands on dad,” admitted Cowell. “I want to fast forward a few years so I can take him go-karting and then introduce him to women. There are a few years to go yet.”
