Amanda Peet Returns To TV In ‘Bent’ Tonight [Video]

Amanda Peet hasn’t been on the small screen since she starred alongside Matthew Perry in the short-lived series “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” in 2006. The actress returns to TV tonight in a new comedy for NBC, “Bent.”

Peet, now 40, plays a newly divorced mother who decides to renovate her home in order to give herself a fresh start. Peet hires a womanizing contractor who, despite his obvious flaws, becomes Peet’s love interest.

Peet told TV Guide that she can definitely relate to her new character. The actress has two daughters and says that she’s a “stressed out mom” just like her character.

Peet said:

“I like the idea that she’s a single mom trying to keep it all together. I think most working moms have this sinking feeling that they’re failing, so I related to that. And I like the idea of an adult dating show that’s sexy and not just for gags – that kind of romantic suspense where you’re like, ‘Are they going to have sex or not?’ I love that she despises the fact that she’s attracted to (her womanizing contractor).”

Peet is happy to be back on TV but if she has it her way she’ll soon find herself on another show. Peet’s husband, David Benioff, is the executive producer on “The Game of Thrones.”

Peet said that she would love to land a part on the HBO show but her husband doesn’t seem to keen on the idea. Peet said:

“I’ve been having sex with him for seven years…you’d think I’d get a role! I keep asking him, and he just looks at me and then changes the subject.”
