Brad Miller Retirement: Timberwolves Center to Retire, Focus on Hunting Show

Minnesota Timberwolves’ center Brad Miller says he is retiring after the 2012 NBA season to focus on his other passion in life, hunting.

“For anyone that is listening, I’m going to retire after this season,” Miller said prior to the T’wolves game at Golden State on Monday night. “It’s time to concentrate on ‘Country Boys.’ I’m done.”

In Country Boys Outdoors, Miller, a 35-year-old self described “hick,” travels across the globe with his long time friend Jon Brunson in search of big game. Yahoo! reports the show was selected best new series at the 2009 Sportsman Choice Awards.

Miller, who came into the NBA in 1998 after going undrafted, underwent microfracture surgery in May of 2011 before joining the Timberwolves in the off-season. He has only appeared in seven games for Minnesota this season.

Over the course of his 14-year NBA career, Brad Miller has averaged 11.3 points and 7.2 rebounds and made 2 the NBA All-Star team twice (2003, 2004). Aside from Minnesota, Miller played for the Rockets, Kings, Pacers, Hornets, and Bulls. He played college ball at Purdue.
