Tebow Trade Rumors Heat Up As Jets Enter Race For Quarterback

The Tim Tebow trade rumors are as hot as ever, with two separate publications claiming the New York Jets have entered the race for the 24-year-old quarterback.

Both the Star-Ledger and the New York Daily News reported Tuesday that the Jets were looking to bring Tebow to the Big Apple. And with the Denver Broncos looking to offload the player, there’s no shortage of potential suitors for Tebow – Jacksonville, Green Bay, and Miami are also said to have made enquiries.

The Broncos’ acquisition of four-time MVP Peyton Manning means Tebow faces a year on the sidelines if he doesn’t move, and the Jets see him as a workable option in New York. The team’s new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano favors the kind of Wildcat formations that would utilize Tebow’s skills.

The Jets already have quarterback options aplenty – if Tebow did move to the MetLife Stadium, he would join Drew Stanton, Mark Sanchez and Greg McElroy.

Just hours before the Star-Ledger and NY Daily News published their reports, Broncos executive vee-pee of football operations John Elway had denied that formal talks have been held with any team about Tebow.

Yet one friend of the attention-grabbing quarterback claims Tebow has his heart set on Florida, where he came to prominence while playing for the Gators. Monica Culpepper, the wife of former NFL and Florida Gators player Brad Culpepper, told 970 WFLA radio:

“Brad and I just had dinner with Tim last week and I don’t think this comes as a shock or surprise to him that Manning was actually going to go there. And in all honesty, Tim said, ‘I miss home. I miss the South. And hopefully I’ll land somewhere in Florida.'”

That would surely make the Jaguars favorite in the race for Tebow. Where do you expect this raw yet talented player to end up?
