Zendaya ‘DWTS’ Graduation: Former ‘DWTS’ Partners Celebrate Zendaya’s High School Graduation

Zendaya had a DWTS graduation celebration thanks to her former dance partner, Val Chmerkovskiy! According to the International Business Times, Zendaya Coleman had a little pre-graduation celebration over the weekend, and Val was there to celebrate with her. Other friends were also in the mix, but fans were happy to see Val there as it proves that the two are still good friends.

“Thank you for our little pre-graduation party. Still gotta take a few finals #positivethinking,” Zendaya wrote as a caption on WhoSay.

Zendaya had a DWTS graduation (of sorts) on Season 16 of the hit ABC show. She and Val came in second place, losing to Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough. According to Entertainment Tonight, Zendaya and Val have remained close even though they don’t see each other often. In March, she posted a photo of the two, and the caption was very telling.

“I’m not gonna write 3 pages and get all sappy cause I would look like a dork but just know I love you…happy birthday to my ace @iamvalc #famovererrrrthang [sic],” she wrote.

Val Chmerkovskiy has gotten very close with his Dancing With The Stars partners over the years. There have been many seasons that fans have thought that he was hooking up with his partners, as well. For instance, rumors flew about his Season 15 partner Kelly Monaco, as well as his Season 18 partner, Danica McKellar. Perhaps there wasn’t one relationship more obvious than the one he had with Janel Parrish (Pretty Little Liars). Although the two never admitted whether or not they were hooking up, fans were (and still are) convinced.

Val didn’t seem to have that kind of romantic relationship with Zendaya, but the two became close nonetheless. That relationship is similar to the one Val has with his current partner, Rumer Willis.

Rumer has done incredibly well this season, making it to the semifinals (which begin tonight). As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Val has been really instrumental in bringing Rumer out of her shell, and the two have really done some emotional damage — Rumer’s dad, Bruce Willis, admits that he cries while watching his daughter on the show.

Do you think Rumer and Val will win this season of Dancing With The Stars? Are you surprised that Val and Zendaya are still such good friends? Do you think Rumer and Val will be friends after the show?
