Ashley Olsen Lyme Disease Rumors Persist: Olsen Twin Spied On Matcha Green Tea Run

Ashley Olsen

Amid rumors running rampant on the internet and social media that are enough to fill a house about Ashley Olsen’s alleged Lyme disease diagnosis, the actress-turned fashion designer was snapped out and about in New York over the weekend, citing a Daily Mail report.

The former Full House star was seen walking in the Big Apple with an unnamed companion on Sunday. Sources say Ashley, 28, one half of the Olsen Twins, went makeup-free and was seen in the city’s West Village holding a cup of matcha green tea. If she was diagnosed with Lyme disease, she didn’t show any outward signs.

The beverage is a popular staple in the United States that is lauded for its high antioxidant potential and ability to pump up the body’s metabolism. Olsen is a known “workout fanatic,” so it makes perfect sense for her to make a tea run after putting in work.

She donned a long-sleeve gray sweatshirt, black Nike pants, and matching trainers. By rounding out her attire with retro John Lennon-style round-rimmed sunglasses, Ash left her fashion stamp on the outfit. About those Lyme Disease rumors? She looked amazing.

Meanwhile, about the rumors, apparently originating from OK! Magazine, sources suggest Ashley Olsen is stricken with the condition, that has gotten worse. It’s a serious bacterial ailment that is transmitted by the bites of ticks. With early intervention, it is treatable with antibiotics and other medications.

The trouble is, Lyme Disease is insidious and doctors often have a tough time making a formal diagnosis; it can present as a bad case of the flu. One of the tabloid’s sources close to Olsen says that Ashley is not doing well and has been battling it quietly for years.

“She’s really sick. It’s gotten worse. She was diagnosed in the very late stages so early detection measures weren’t options for her. She’s really going through it.”

“When she does come to work, she looks haggard and disheveled. And she’s often moody. Ashley’s having a very rough time right now.”

The Inquisitr has not independently verified the rumors about Ashley’s alleged condition. However, as one person said, it’s the larger message that’s important. Here, they are talking about spreading awareness that the illness can strike anyone.

For instance, two other celebrities that are known to have Lyme disease are vocal about their struggles. Singer Avril Lavigne told fans on social media why she has been absent for a number of months. In one of her recent messages, Lavigne said she felt as if she were “dying.” Luckily, with aggressive and early treatment, she’s managed to recover, at least, in the short-term.

“I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk and I couldn’t move. I thought I was dying… I had no idea a bug bite could do this. I was bedridden for five months.”

Also, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster learned of her diagnosis three years ago. Ever since, she’s been struggling to cope with Lyme disease. She recently informed followers on social media that she is cautiously optimistic about a recent stem cell procedure to strengthen her own immunity.

Ashley Olsen has not confirmed a Lyme disease struggle. If so, a legion of fans wish her well.
