Bobbi Kristina Brown: What Happened To The Criminal Investigation?
It’s been over three months since Bobbi Kristina Brown was found in her bathtub, unresponsive, by boyfriend Nick Gordon and his friend, Max Lomas. A criminal investigation was reportedly launched due to unexplained bruising to the face and chest of Bobbi Kristina. Gordon was a prime suspect, but news has grown cold and we don’t know much more than we did in the days directly following the incident. So, what’s going on? Is the criminal investigation still in progress?
There are so many unanswered questions. Was Bobbi Kristina Brown the victim of a crime? If so, who harmed her? Why won’t Nick Gordon reveal the details of the events leading up to the incident that nearly claimed the life of Bobbi Kristina? If he is innocent of any wrongdoing, why would Nick be reluctant to share what happened, especially if doing so meant that Bobby Brown would allow him to see Bobbi Kristina?
A family source confirmed to People that police believe a crime had been committed.
“Foul play is being investigated, including drug use and possibly cover-up to remove evidence from the crime scene.”
In a report by CNN shortly after the news about Bobbi Kristina broke, Roswell Police Chief Rusty Grant stated that the case was assumed to be criminal.
“I can confirm that we have a criminal investigation ongoing.”
The Roswell Police Department also released a statement clarifying that the case had been looked at as criminal from the very beginning and had not been reclassified as such.
Bobby Brown released a statement through his attorney, Christopher Brown, which also confirmed Bobbi Kristina was believed to have been a victim of a crime.
“This is a criminal investigation and the integrity of that process requires silence.”
Daphne Barak, friend of Bobbi Kristina and Gordon, confirmed that Nick had been questioned by police.
“Immediately, from the beginning, they asked him about injuries to the chest.”
Though Gordon reportedly claimed the bruises were formed due to his attempts to perform CPR on Bobbi Kristina, it seems the police remain suspicious.
Bobby Brown banned Gordon from the hospital, stating he would be allowed to see Bobbi Kristina only if he revealed the events of the day leading up to the bathtub incident. Though he appeared to be desperate to see his girlfriend, Nick Gordon, nevertheless, refused. To this day, he has not been able to visit Bobbi Kristina, either in the hospital, or in the rehabilitation facility to which she has been transferred.
