Cindy Crawford’s mini-me is starting to look more and more like her model mom.
According to the Huffington Post, Cindy Crawford and her family kicked off Mother’s Day early by attending the Saturday premiere of Tomorrowland in Anaheim, California. Cindy’s 13-year-old daughter, Kaia Gerber, is the spitting image of her mother in photos from the event, but Cindy’s genes are also strong in her 15-year-old son, Presley.
As you can see, Kaia and Presley decided to coordinate their outfits with their dad, entrepreneur Rande Gerber. The kids and their pops all wore matching black leather jackets, allowing Cindy Crawford to stand out in her white blazer. The Gerbers were likely invited to attend the Tomorrowland premiere because its star, George Clooney, is very good friends with Rande Gerber.
Kaia Gerber doesn’t quite have her mom’s height yet, but her modeling career is starting to take off. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the teen made her magazine modeling debut last year when she appeared in the pages of Teen Vogue.
Kaia’s career first got a big boost when she landed a 2012 Young Versace ad campaign. That same year, Cindy Crawford talked about how tough it is watching her daughter grow more and more gorgeous as she gets older.
“I look at my daughter and I’m like, ‘You have my old skin and I want it back! You have my old legs, I want them back! You have my old hair, I want it back!'” Cindy said, according to Glamour.
It sounds like Cindy might be just a tad jealous of her offspring, and perhaps she was also a bit alarmed at the amount of attention Kaia Gerber received when she made her big modeling debut three years ago. According to ABC News, Cindy put the brakes on Kaia’s modeling career shortly after the girl’s Versace campaign went viral, saying that then-10-year-old Kaia was “too young to pursue a modeling career.”
Cindy Crawford was discovered at age 16, and the 49-year-old still looks worthy of the runway. The model is always asked about the beauty secrets that she uses to stop the clock, but, unfortunately, it sounds like good genes are mostly responsible for her ageless beauty.
“The secret is that there’s no secret,” Crawford told Violet Grey last year. “Do all the stuff we know: Don’t smoke, get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, find what makes you happy.”
Cindy also revealed that she doesn’t rely on her looks for her happiness.
“I don’t want to look in the mirror every day and be down on myself. Look, I’m holding together pretty good, but I don’t look like I did when I was 25 or 30 or even 40. What I’m finding for myself is that if I continue to be engaged, to do what I love, that’s how I get my self-esteem cup filled.”
Back in March, the internet thought it was filling up her self-esteem cup by praising a viral photo that pictured Cindy Crawford with a cellulite-covered stomach. She was applauded for showing the world what an un-retouched photo of a model looks like, but it turns out that the picture in question actually was digitally altered — someone edited it to make Cindy’s body look much worse than it actually does.
Do you think Kaia Gerber will follow in Cindy Crawford’s footsteps by becoming a supermodel, or will the teen’s mother try to talk her out of pursuing a career in the public eye after seeing how much celebrity women are scrutinized?
