Obama Blamed Fox News For Political Problems

This just in! Turns out Obama has been nursing a grudge against FOX News for some time now. The sitting-president credits FOX with halting the otherwise meteoric progress of his political career, according to a new book on Obama’s administration.

Obama’s specific beef with FOX? Hurting his career by constantly alleging that he is Muslim. During a closed-door meeting with labor leaders all the way back in 2010 (halfway through his term), Obama said that he was “losing white males” because they switch to FOX and “hear Obama is a Muslim 24/7.”

This is just one of many little bits of Obama trivia you will learn when you buy Mother Jones reporter David Corn’s new book, Showdown: The Inside Story of How Obama Fought Back Against Boehner, Cantor, and the Tea Party.

What else can you expect to find in Showdown? Obama’s criticism of corporate executives for their attacks on him after the 2010 midterm elections. “I saved these guys when the economy was falling off a cliff,” Obama told an adviser. “Now I get nothing but their venom.” Obama shows a shifty side: himself, adviser David Plouffe, and other White House officials had a strategy in 2011 that, if successful, would have dealt a massive blow to the GOP. They intended to not reveal any new deficit reduction plan and to not challenge budget cuts on the right in order to “draw the GOP into a trap.” Also, Obama was feeling pretty good about the direction of his policies after Democrats got stiffed in the 2010 midterms. David Axelrod is on-record saying: “We all looked at each other quizzically, ‘What does he see that we don’t?’” Well, he won the START treaty ratification and expedited the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell for the team.

Are you going to pick up Corn’s book when it hits bookshelves?
