A South African man was kidnapped and raped at gunpoint by three women who allegedly harvested his semen in a cooler box before making their escape.
According to reports, the three women were driving in a black BMW when they spotted the unsuspecting pedestrian and stopped in the pretense of asking him for directions. One of the women then pointed a gun to his face and forced him into the car.
“They drove into a thoroughfare 500 km away,” Constable Mncedi Mbombo told Sowetan Live. “They parked the car and fondled him to get an erection.”
But when the 33-year-old didn’t get aroused, they forced him to drink a strange concoction from a bottle.
“This got him aroused quickly even though he was still scared and didn’t want to have sex,” Mbombo said.
The three women reportedly took turns raping the man and collected his semen in plastic bags, which they placed in a cooler box.
Upon their completion, the women then kicked the man out of the car and drove off, leaving him 500 km from Port Elizabeth, the town where they had initially picked him up.
“This is really confusing to us because we have never heard of such a thing before. The man was fully conscious throughout his ordeal and he is still traumatized,” said Mbombo.
According to the Daily Mail, this seems to be a growing trend as similar crimes have been reported more than 1,000 miles away in Johannesburg. And in Gauteng, women are allegedly forcing men to drink from a bottle and harvesting their semen. However, no arrests have been made.
Mbomba claims the semen may have been stolen to be used as an ingredient for traditional medicine or “muti.”
“We have no idea why anyone would do this. Taking the sperm for ‘muti’ [traditional medicine] is a possible motive that we will consider,” Mbombo told MailOnline.
“There can be a demand for sperm in traditional medicines. The potion the women gave this man to make him stronger possibly may also have been some “muti” they had prepared, or bought for this purpose,” he said.
Adding, “I have experience in investigating other ‘muti’ crimes, where private parts were stolen for witchcraft, but this is the first time I have heard of semen being stolen. We are looking at links with other reported crimes that have similarities.”
The women are still at large, and a rape investigation is currently underway.
